The Nashville Predators might have snuck in to the postseason a year ago but the team is closing in on the Central title and are not sneaking up on anybody. Nashville defeated San Jose 5-3 on Thursday where Logan Couture, Brenden Dillon and Mikkel Boedker scored for the Sharks and Martin Jones allowed four goals on 31 shots.
The balanced Predators saw Kyle Turris, Viktor Arvidsson, Craig Smith, Ryan Ellis and Nick Bonino all reach the scoring column. Filip Forsberg gave Nashville three assists and Juuse Saros made an impressive 39 saves to get the victory.
The Tampa Bay Lightning haven’t been themselves the past few weeks as the team tries to wrap up the Atlantic crown. Tampa Bay comes in off of a 7-3 rout of the Rangers where Brady Skjel, Filip Chytil and Chris Kreider scored for New York and Ondrej Pavelec allowed six goals on 49 shots.
Cedric Paquette and Brayden Point topped the Lightning with a pair of goals each while Alex Killhorn, JT Miller and Dan Girardi joined the scoring spree. Three players gave Tampa Bay two assists each and Louis Dominigue recorded 28 sops to get the win.
